Duties

Help
  • Apply a wide range of FPAC principles, theories, processes of management with a high degree of resourcefulness, ingenuity and inventiveness to a variety of studies, investigations, and assignments.
  • Apply management principles, organizational theory, and techniques of analysis and evaluation, along with knowledge of standardized administrative practices and procedures.
  • Conduct studies of work processes and to identify, analyze, and recommend solutions to problems in organizational structure,
  • Gather information, identify and analyze issues, and develop recommendations to resolve problems of effectiveness and efficiency of work operations in a program support setting.
  • Analyze, and make recommendations to resolve conventional problems and situations in workflow, work distribution, staffing, organizational structure and/or administration.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience - GS-09: To qualify for this position, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the Federal GS-07 level or higher, that has equipped me with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. For this position, specialized experience is defined as:

  • Providing advice and support to management and program officials on the interpretation of regulations and guidelines and their application to problems;
  • Conducting review and analysis of systems and procedures type of problems;
  • Attending meetings with management to discuss factual information relating to findings and conclusions;
  • Applying a wide range of principles, theories, processes of management with a high degree of resourcefulness, ingenuity and inventiveness to a variety of studies, investigations, and assignments;
  • Providing advice and support to management and program officials on the interpretation of regulations and guidelines and their application to problems;
  • Participating with higher level specialists in planning sessions and discussions of innovative ways to carry out assigned programs and new programs.
Education Substitution: 4Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B., or J.D., if related, from an accredited college or university. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.

Combination of Education and Experience: Successful completion of combination of education and experience, as described above, may be used to qualify for this position. This combination must have equipped you with the necessary knowledge and/or experience to successfully perform the duties of this position. Combinations of experience and education must total at least 100% as outlined in OPM Qualifications policy.

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the 05/27/2021 of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined above.

Time in grade: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. (e.g. one year at the GS-07 grade level for consideration for the GS-09 grade level).

Salary will be adjusted to the location in which you are selected. The FPAC Hub duty location for non-FPAC mission area applicants will be determined upon selection. Salary will be adjusted to the location in which you are selected. The FPAC Hub duty locations for non-FPAC applicants will be: Kansas City, MO, Raleigh, NC or Washington DC.
