Duties

Help

As an Information Technology Specialist in the Office of Investigations, Cyber Investigations and Forensic Analysis (CIFA) unit, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing digital forensics and eDiscovery support.

  • Provide technical expertise to assist CIFA and TechOps Headquarters and regional offices in the analysis, evaluation, and determination of the most efficient and effective approach for the collection, storage, searching, review, and production of documents and electronically stored information (ESI).
  • Develop and maintain the daily operations of the eDiscovery program. Identify solutions to CIFA resource requirements, complete reporting requirements, and develop and provide guidance for policy and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
  • Create developmental plans for eDiscovery projects, helping to ensure compliance with Federal and administrative court rules. Manage project tasks, including all activities associated with project management, project planning, progress assessments, quality reviews, implementation strategies, as well as user and staff communication.
  • Consult with office of counsel and investigation staff to determine appropriate approach for drafting subpoena language for the collection and storage of electronic and hard copy evidentiary material.
  • Serve as an information technology adviser and consultant providing litigation support for sensitive and complex programs, issues, and problems being addressed by the OIG.
  • Serve as a technical resource on a wide variety of litigation support products, eDiscovery tools and software including, but not limited to, Relativity.

Time-in-grade restrictions must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Applicants must have at least 52 weeks of service equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position.

Appointment to this position may be subject to successful completion of a 1-year probationary period.

Upon reporting, and on an annual basis thereafter, you may be required to file a financial statement and/or a procurement integrity certification. These certifications may be subject to public disclosure.

This position requires a security clearance and is subject to drug testing. The selectee must test negative prior to being appointed to this position and will be subject to random testing thereafter. Failure to pass subsequent tests could result in disciplinary action, up to and including removal from the Federal service.

Qualifications

To qualify for the GS-14:You must have one (1) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position being filled.

Specialized experience for this position include: Leading or serving on a team responsible for developing and maintaining electronic discovery (eDiscovery) program plans.
