The Residency Director directs the Psychiatry Residency Program while also serving as a full-time VA staff psychiatrist at the Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System. The Residency Director directs the Psychiatry residents and works closely with the OSU Residency Program Director. The Track Director receives approximately 0.6 FTEE, 24 hours per week, dedicated time for this role in program development, administration, teaching and supervision. • Communicates regularly with the OSU Program Director for guidance and to ensure that all aspects of residency training conform to the requirements for psychiatry residency training as put forth from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and to Oklahoma State University Psychiatry Residency requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborates with the Associate Chief of Staff for Education (ACOS/E) in developing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Residency Review Committee (RRC), VA Office of Academic Affairs (OAA), and VA rules and regulations relating to maintaining the psychiatry residency program accreditation.
  • Bears full responsibility and authority for the EOVAHCS psychiatry residency and is charged with developing appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that the psychiatry residents are informed of and comply with the policies and procedures associated with each training site.
