Duties

Help

  • Serves as the main point of contact for all aspects of the disclosure review system, assists the Office of Information Technology (OIT) on future enhancements and releases of the system, and manages support contracts by serving as a Contracting Officer Representative.
  • Consults with Division Senior Staff to understand changes to business processes, and communicates with business stakeholders to clearly convey technical approaches and impact on the business.
  • Provides structure to and participates in the day-to-day disclosure review system help desk support operations which includes responding to technical issues and researching and resolving problems (i.e., Tier 2 help desk).
  • Provides subject matter expertise on disclosure review system technical requirements that support system design, database design, access control, management systems, and other related technology initiatives, and facilitates system transformational efforts to provide increased effectiveness and improve business processes.
  • Keeps the Division apprised of disclosure review system enhancements via email communications, development of job aids, and the facilitation of training sessions; and leads focus groups with system users to develop enhancements and track and resolve system bugs.

  • PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION (PCS): Moving/Relocation expenses are not authorized.
  • DIRECT DEPOSIT: All Federal employees are required to have Federal salary payments made by direct deposit to a financial institution of their choosing.
  • This position is in the collective bargaining unit.
  • Due to COVID-19, the SEC is currently in a mandatory telework posture through June 25, 2021. If selected, you will be permitted to temporarily telework from a location outside the local commuting area.
  • Once employees are permitted to return to the office, you will be expected to report to the duty station listed on this announcement within 60 days. At that time, you will be eligible to request telework in accordance with the SEC 's telework policy.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

BASIC REQUIREMENT:
Applicant must possess IT related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies: reviewing work to ensure it is in line with established standards or to identify deficiencies (Attention to Detail); collaborating with customers to identify their information technology needs or to resolve their hardware and software problems (Customer Service); explaining technical information orally to non-technical audiences (Oral Communication); and evaluating alternatives to recommend solutions to hardware or software problems (Problem Solving).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must also meet the minimum qualification requirement.
SK-13: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-12 level. Specialized experience includes: 1) working with database structures and the system development lifecycle; 2) advising senior management regarding technology-related risks and governance practices; and 3) leading an IT program, governance processes, technology strategy, or managing support contracts.
