Duties

This is a Team Leader position in the Division of Grants and Agreements (DGA), Office of Budget, Finance and Award Management (BFA). The Team Leader manages a team of 6 to 8 Grants and Agreements professionals and is responsible for the following:

Overseeing the management of various types of grants and agreements for a wide diverse group of rapidly changing unique objectives, which many times require frequent contact with the senior program and management offcials of the Foundation, commercial and non-profit organizations, private and public academic institutions and other Federal agencies, including the authority to obligate all grants and assistance agreements with an unlimited dollar value.

Working with DGA's senior management in the formulation, prioritization and implementation of system application requirements within DGA.  Analyzes DGA's operation needs and recommends enhancements and modernization of the award review process through electronic technology initiatives through the DGA Systems Coordinator.

Managing a wide variety of customer service functions using advanced technology to meet customer needs.  Responsible for identifying and assessing customer needs, developing long-and short-range plans to meet these needs in a cost-effective manner, and overseeing the implementation and management of accepted solutions.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent.

Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-14 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include: providing research administration and business assistance to a variety of awardees; determining financial conditions and adequacy of accounting systems of organizations recommended for funding; assisting awardees in implementing adequate financial, accounting, and compliance systems for the Federal awards; and reviewing, analyzing, and resolving audit findings.

Education

Education may enhance skills required for this position; however, no substitution of education for specialized experience may be made at this level.
