Help

The AIG Audit oversees the policy and governance structure to ensure NGA maximizes use of finance, technology, and information systems to improve the agency's mission delivery and performance. The AIG Audit will provide OIG with executive level direction in audit operations, IT security, finance management and programmatic areas. The AIG Audit will be responsible for the processes for all annual and multi-year audit planning, programming, and budgeting decisions. The AIG Audit will ensure that OIG implements a process for selecting appropriate investments for the benefit of audit reviews and will review audit budget requests. From the programmatic perspective, the AIG Audit will serve a critical role in strengthening NGA OIG oversight responsibilities. The AIG for Audit leads a core auditing staff in conducting independent, objective audits of the economy, efficiency, and effectiveness of NGA program and activities. In addition, the AIG for Audit provides essential accountability and transparency over government programs enabling decision makers to improve operations, reduce costs, comply with laws and regulations, and strengthen internal controls to reduce the potential of fraud and illegal acts. The AIG oversees the Agency's Financial Statement Audit, a critical initiative with senior visibility within the Department of Defense (DoD), Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), and Congress. This leader guides audit activities to include audit operations, programmatic activities, and strategic planning. The AIG supervises program areas that meet statutory requirements required by law, or are based on risk assessments from legislators, oversight bodies, or agency officers. The leader represents the NGA Inspector General when coordinating on audit matters with other agencies, law enforcement agencies, US Attorney Offices, Department of Justice, DoD, IC entities, and Agency Seniors. The AIG for Audit coordinates on multiple senior officer level working groups and cross community initiatives.

Security Clearance and Access Level: This position requires access to classified Defense Department and Intelligence Community information. The individual selected must already possess, or be immediately eligible for, a TOP SECRET security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information. U.S. citizenship is required for the granting of a security clearance. Joint Duty Credit: All NGA executive level positions require Joint Duty credit. Employees will receive joint duty credit a majority of service or rotational assignments that were at least at the GS/GG-11 or DCIPS Pay Band 3 level, and generally for at least one year, or for 179 days or more when deployed to a designated combat zone on or after September 11, 2001. Note: Applicants without Joint Duty credit may apply for the position and can be considered. If selected, a waiver would be required prior to final appointment or provide proof of Joint Duty qualifying experience.

Eligibility for this executive level position will be based upon a clear demonstration that the applicant has experience of the scope and quality sufficient to effectively carry out the assignments of the position. The successful applicants will be distinguished from other applicants by a review of the following Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs), the Intelligence Community (IC) Senior Officer Core Qualification (SOCQ) Standard, and the Technical Qualifications.
