Duties

Help
  • Provides expert project management for Corps of Engineers Civil Works water resources projects of high dollar value, of national priority, of environmental sensitivity, of extraordinary urgency, or having similar requirements.
  • Projects may include dams, water diversion structures, bridges, flood walls, levees, river control structures, flood plains, dredging, environmental restoration and other facilities, or a combination thereof.
  • Requires that the incumbent apply a wealth of water resources, scientific, and Corps of Engineers policy and project management knowledge to achieve scheduling, funding and program goals.
  • Prepares, presents and testifies on behalf of the District before state and local governments, contractors, other agencies, and Congressional representatives.

In addition to meeting the basic education requirements above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirement listed below:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating the planning, design, engineering and environmental considerations for civil works water resource projects (such as coastal, navigation, regional sediment management, coastal storm damage reduction, and environmental restoration projects) to ensure sufficient resources to support project objectives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
