Provides expert project management for Corps of Engineers Civil Works water resources projects of high dollar value, of national priority, of environmental sensitivity, of extraordinary urgency, or having similar requirements.
Projects may include dams, water diversion structures, bridges, flood walls, levees, river control structures, flood plains, dredging, environmental restoration and other facilities, or a combination thereof.
Requires that the incumbent apply a wealth of water resources, scientific, and Corps of Engineers policy and project management knowledge to achieve scheduling, funding and program goals.
Prepares, presents and testifies on behalf of the District before state and local governments, contractors, other agencies, and Congressional representatives.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid states drivers license.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating the planning, design, engineering and environmental considerations for civil works water resource projects (such as coastal, navigation, regional sediment management, coastal storm damage reduction, and environmental restoration projects) to ensure sufficient resources to support project objectives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
