Duties

Help
  • Develop and write policies, and ensures that policies and procedures serve to promote and enhance the enterprise planning and analysis, strategic integration, operational systems integration, fiscal integration, and manpower integration.
  • Serve as an authority and subject matter expert (SME) providing functional advice and support on various strategic work groups that are involved with developing and executing strategic planning, concept development, and force management functions.
  • Exercise full range of supervisory personnel management and authority in directing a staff of civilian and military personnel.
  • Provide supervision to support AMC Commanding General (CG), Deputy Commanding General (DCG), Executive Deputy Commanding General (EDCG), and staff principles at regular and special program reviews and operational directive meetings.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Position is designated Special-Sensitive (4) Top Secret (TS) security clearance or the incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance/access for the duration of the appointment.
  • This position has a TDY travel requirement up to 25% as a condition of employment
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet the position requirements for certification at Level III in Life Cycle Logistics within 36 months of entrance on duty.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) managing and leading diverse teams; 2) executing the Joint Capability Integration Development System (JCIDS), Problem Identification, Capability Gap Analysis, Concept Development, Required Capability Development, and Force Management; 3) interpreting and executing Multi-domain operations, Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leader development, Personnel , Facilities and Policy (DOTMLPF-P) analysis, and organizational design; 4) synchronizing logistical support for new organizations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
