Summary

This position is located in the National Archives' Office of the Chief of Staff, Customer Experience Division. As a HUMAN CENTERED DESIGN SPECIALIST, you will plan and conduct consumer research; coordinate the agency's voice of the customer program, partner to identify customer-focused approaches to service delivery improvement; and leverage design thinking across NARA's diverse lines of business to foster positive, memorable experiences for the agency's internal and external customers.

Duties

Help

As a HUMAN CENTERED DESIGN SPECIALIST, you will:

- Employ HCD tools/practices including research methodologies, rapid-prototyping, and usability testing across diverse service offerings.
- Create visually appealing and understandable alignment diagrams (e.g. service blueprints, customer journey maps, experience maps, mental models etc.)
- Coordinate the development of NARA's Voice of the Customer (VoC) program and operationalize NARA's Customer Experience Framework.
- Develop and provide human-centered design coaching and training to support the application of design thinking across NARA's diverse lines of business.
- Author communications about NARA's customer experience/human-centered design initiatives, goals, and best practices for internal and external audiences.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience for the GS-13: You must have one year of experience at the GS-12 level in the federal service or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes ALL of the following:

- Utilizing human-centered design approaches to aid in enhancing service delivery and improve customer experience. Examples of these design approaches could be but are not limited to research methodologies, experience design, rapid-prototyping, usability testing, and design operations. AND
- Applying design skills to create images, layouts, roadmaps, posters, or other materials to convey program initiatives. AND
- Communicating with senior-level management regarding human-centered design techniques and approaches. AND
- Presenting innovative human-centered design workshops, resources, training and webinars for service delivery staff.
