You will create visual storytelling materials (presentations, graphics for social media and static displays, photos, videos, etc.) to communicate complicated concepts to diverse audiences.
You will research, prepare, and disseminate social media content, news releases and feature articles to local and national print and broadcast media.
You will plan and coordinate special events, activities, programs, and projects to meet organizational goals.
You will serve as a point of contact for local media representatives.
You will support emergency and disaster response public affairs activities throughout the Regional area of responsibility.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing graphic design, layout and/or visual storytelling concepts to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences; 2) Developing and employing visual, written and oral communication methods in producing multimedia materials for social media, presentations, news releases, etc; 3) Analyzing programs to identify the most effective communication techniques to use in reaching different audiences; and 4) Applying written, oral and visual communication techniques and methods in providing advisory services to upper management and other various audiences. NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Education
The following education may be substituted for specialized experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
or
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. In which the percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equals one hundred percent.

This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
