Duties

Help
  • Responsible for the administrative support functions, which include initial and annual training for Information Security (INFOSEC), Personnel Security (PERSEC), Physical Security (PHYSEC), Communications Security (COMSEC) and Intelligence Oversight.
  • SSO support functions include briefing and debriefing, data entry to JPAS and Scattered Castles, updating rosters, and participating in inspections and facility accreditation.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on an SBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Performs occasional temporary duty (TDY) travel 5% or less of the time.
  • May be required to work occasional overtime.

Army DCIPS positions apply Veteran's Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C., in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing two or more of the following: 1. Reviewing security clearance applications for accuracy and completion of information. 2. Assisting in the preparation and/or presentation of security briefings/debriefings. 3. Maintain security files using automated systems and applications including databases, word processing, and spreadsheets. 4. Providing support in one or more of the following security disciplines: Information Security, Personnel Security, Physical Security, Communications Security. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS/GG-07).

OR

One year specialized experience which includes: 1. Reviewing security clearance applications for accuracy and completion of information. 2. Assisting in the preparation and/or presentation of security briefings/debriefings. 3. Maintain security files using automated systems and applications including databases, word processing, and spreadsheets. 4. Providing support in one or more of the following security disciplines: Information Security, Personnel Security, Physical Security, Communications Security. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position outside the federal service (GS/GG-08).

OR

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
