Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, bordering Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2-hour drive east and Springfield is a 1-hour drive west of Fort Leonard Wood.

Duties

Help
  • Advise the MSCoE CG and Commandants on all aspects of force structure with emphasis on Engineer organizations and others supporting the Protection Warfighting Function.
  • Evaluate MSCoE functional areas primarily related to Engineer and Protection capabilities in management analysis, system design and application, concepts, doctrine, Force Design Organization Papers and Tables of Organization and Equipment.
  • Perform research in Engineer and Protection concepts, doctrine, force structure, planning factors, systems and/or procedures and the Maneuver Support aspects of contingency plans.
  • Prepare briefings, attend conferences and represent MSCoE primarily regarding Engineer and Protection concepts, doctrine, force structure, organizations, systems, and procedures.
  • Represent Engineer units in the Total Army Analysis process, ensuring accurate representation of their capabilities and employment.
  • Develop and update products including Rules of Allocation, construction projects, and Class IV Planning Factors.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: one year of specialized experience which includes: performing analyses and/or studies related to force structure, primarily concerning Army Engineer Table of Organization and Equipment units; evaluating concepts, organizations, systems and procedures for Engineer operational forces; applying skills and technical knowledge of the Army's combat development system, Engineer organizational capabilities, and force structuring techniques in research and analysis; providing technical
advisory services on force development activities; and preparing and providing briefings to high level officials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcements.
