Duties

Help
  • Review credentialing applications for completeness.
  • Prepare agenda and minutes for credential committee.
  • Utilize various software (i.e. word processing, graphics and electronic spreadsheets) to accomplish work.
  • Review databases such as: National Practitioner Data database for adverse provider report.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (GS-06). Specialized experience is experience such as: providing information to medical providers that relate to the credentialing process; performing various clerical support functions for assigned credentialing clinic; assisting with provider data collection as part of the credentialing process; assisting with preparing reports; and/or providing general information for customers regarding polices and regulations.

Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

The announcement for the term appointment from which the conversion is made stated that there was potential for subsequent conversion to career-conditional or career appointment.

This position may transfer to the Defense Health Agency (DHA) no later than 30 Sept 2021 in accordance with the provisions of Section 702 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017, Public Law 114-328. The Act directed the DHA to take responsibility for the administration (i.e., authority, direction, and control) of military treatment facilities beginning 1 Oct 18. Employees will become DoD employees upon transfer to the DHA.
