Duties

Help
  • Prepares and coordinates Joint war planning and publishes US Army Garrison (USAG) contingency plans.
  • Develops plans, procedures, and concept of operations for Military Assistance to Civil Authorities (MACA) and Defense Support to Civil Authorities (DSCA) during natural disasters occurring in Alaska.
  • Prepares plans for the emergency employment of Army resources made available for Military Support of Civil Defense (MSCD), and Defense Support to Civil Authorities (DSCA) or a terrorist attack by a foreign power.
  • Represents USAG on planning matters at subordinate headquarters, ALCOM, USARAK, and all other Federal or State agencies.
  • Performs plans functions on the WeBEOC to include assistance providing and supervising training program for newly assigned personnel.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience Required: Candidates for this position must identify in their resume that they possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level/pay band (GS-11) in the federal service that demonstrates the following: Utilizing integrated systems to plan and execute joint military operations and develop concept plans.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job there is no education substitution for experience, you must qualify based on specialized experience.
