Duties

Help
  • Supervises a large Department of the Army Civilian (DAC) staff responsible for the management of 50,000 acres of training lands, multi-million dollar facilities and training venues
  • Central point for control and coordination for all activities conducted within the installation training complex
  • Responsible for programming efforts concerning range facility modernization.
  • Serves as resource manager for the installation range and training lands

  • Must Successfully complete the Inter-service Range Safety Course (Intermediate) or the Range Safety Course Level II
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
  • Must have normal depth perception and color vision
  • Must be able to travel temporary duty (TDY) up to 35% of the time
  • Subject to recall which may include working nights, weekends and holidays
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work to support mission
  • Pre-employment physical is required

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: one year of specialized experience in the Federal service which includes managing range facility operations to improve program effectiveness and/or organizational productivity; providing technical guidance on range facility operational/systemic problems; and, monitoring safety at a range facility. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
