Duties

Help
  • Serves as a Quality Assurance Representative (QAR) at the site of construction, monitoring construction activities for assigned projects.
  • Studies preliminary plans/specifications prior to award of construction contracts.
  • Maintains surveillance or the contractor inspection system for compliance with approved quality control plan.

  • This is an Army Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (ATL) Workforce position. The employee must meet DoDI 5000.66 requirements applicable to the duties of the position within 2 years of appointment.
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) of 5% may be required.
  • A valid driver?s license is required in order to make site visits.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
  • A medical examination will be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience GS-09: One year specialized experience which includes monitoring construction activities on projects AND surveying contractor work for compliance with quality control plans. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).

Specialized Experience GS-10: One year specialized experience which includes monitoring construction activities on projects AND surveying contractor work for compliance with quality control plans. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Specialized Experience GS-11: One year specialized experience which includes monitoring construction activities on projects AND surveying contractor work for compliance with quality control plans. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08/09/10).
