OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for format and stylistic requirements for compiling and integrating data from several sources to form technical manuscripts and final summaries produced in the Systems Development Directorate.

The organizational location of this position is: Air Combat Command (ACC), Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC), Systems Development Directorate (SD), Treaty and Monitoring Division (SDA), Patrick AFB, FL.

Duties

Help
  • Develops and controls procedures on format and stylistic requirements for Air Force and Center documents and technical reports.
  • Advises, assists, and directs geophysicists and technicians in the documentation, preparation, publication, and timely dissemination of data reports (including Seismic Review Panel reports), monthly and quarterly status reports; (continued)
  • annual summary reports, weekly activity reports, command management reports, special message reports, working group reports, evaluation reports, technical reports and briefings, and letter reports.
  • Readies manuscripts for publication. Prepares any supplementary information to be included in technical reports.
  • Expertly uses a variety of automated equipment hardware and software applications to prepare Air Force and Center evaluation documents, monthly and quarterly status reports, annual summary reports, weekly activity reports, command management reports.

This is a GG-07 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-07 duties for the "Technical/Administrative Support" work category are at the "Entry/Developmental" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-07 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include extensive knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Ensures evaluation reports reflect the highest quality standards; extensive knowledge of scientific and technical terminology to preserve meaning when paragraphs and sentences are restructured; extensive knowledge of directives/policies and procedures used in preparing evaluation documents and processing classified documents. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Extensive knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Ensures evaluation reports reflect the highest quality standards.
2. Extensive knowledge of directives/policies and procedures used in preparing evaluation documents and processing classified documents.
3. Extensive knowledge of scientific and technical terminology to preserve meaning when paragraphs/sentences are restructured.
4. Knowledge of reporting requirements and formats of DOD and non-DOD agencies and other organizations concerned with the Center mission.
5. Extensive knowledge of the Center and directorate LANs on the personal computer and the Sun SparcStation. Requires proficient in the use of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software (including FrameMaker, MS Word, etc.) residing on the Center and directorate LANs. Expert ability to use COTS software on the LAN to prepare Headquarters Air Force evaluation documents, monthly and quarterly reports, annual summary reports, weekly activity reports, and other documents. Must be able to effectively integrate files created in a variety of formats. Extensive ability to use specific automated equipment hardware on the LANs. Must proficiently use the SUN SparcStation, the laser printer, the color printer and the scanner.
6. Skill in operating a microcomputer word processing systems and a typewriter. A qualified typist is required. Ability to write and present clear, concise reports and instructions.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
