Duties

Help
  • Analyze deficiencies in Military Intelligence formations.
  • Analyses the optimal needs and requirements for organizations and presents facts to leadership such as doctrine, organization, training and facilities.
  • Supports independent research in capability developments to answer questions that validate portfolio operational gaps, distinguish changes in threat, and address emerging needs in materiel, equipment, organizational components and/or requirements.
  • Coordinates capability development activities to ensure areas are fully integrated and synchronized to support the fielding and operations requirements of the warfighter.
  • Analyze projected threat and current Intelligence and Electronic Warfare capabilities and identifies needs.
  • Applies knowledge of the mission and functions and the interaction with other activities; validated and postulated foreign threat with focus on multi operations and associated threat systems.
  • Briefs force designs and requirement documents throughout the approval process and defends the command's position in intradepartmental forums.
  • Develop requirements leading to training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel, and policy solutions in support of intelligence formations such as Intelligence and Electronic Warfare Battalions.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required 20% or less.

Army DCIPS positions apply Veteran's Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C., in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one (1) year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience developing capability requirements such as doctrine, organization, training, material, leadership and education, personnel, facilities, and policy solutions AND analyzing projected threat and current Intelligence and Electronic Warfare capabilities. The definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GG/GS-11)

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled.This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
