Duties

Help

Sports Assistant duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Supports activities and services of the athletics and intramural sports program. Provides oversight of events and tournaments.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of athletic facilities. Ensures adherence to regulations and safety procedures.
  • Monitors condition of, cleans, and performs minor maintenance on athletics equipment.
  • Assists in setting up for special events and sports tournaments. Assistants with publicity of events and tournaments and assists with the delivery and placement of posters, flyers, and other promotional material.
  • Provides outstanding customer service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/T-1 background check requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
  • Appointment subject to favorable suitability determination.
  • Must be willing to accept a Flexible Appointment.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check and physical.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Must obtain and maintain a nationally recognized certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED within one year of employment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
  • Must be able to endure physical demands beyond normal requirements including prolonged standing and walking, and must be able to work in settings where exposure to moderate discomforts may exist.
  • Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule, to include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

1. Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of the position, such as assisting in setting up and publicizing special events and sport tournaments, assist to deliver posters, flyers, and other promotional materials, and assisting customers.
2. Must be able to obtain a nationally recognized certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED

HIGHLY DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. One year of full-time work experience in the sports and fitness industry.
2. Current nationally recognized certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED.
