Duties

Help
  • Trains, supervises, and schedules professional and volunteer ski patrols in all aspects of Ski safety procedures.
  • Instructs, trains, and leads staff in chair lift evacuation procedures and protocols.
  • Organizes training and assists in instructing ski patrollers in the National Ski Patrol and advanced first aid and staff CPR training.
  • Provides emergency medical care to skiers and guests.
  • Ensures that first aid supplies and equipment are maintained and available at all times.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Possess and maintain the certs: National Ski Outdoor Emergency Care advanced first aid, American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional: CPR for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent (i.e. Star Guard or Ellis) and First Aid.
  • Must complete the following course(s) within six months of employment: MWR Orientation; Customer Service.
  • In case of exposure to infectious disease, incumbent is required to obtain the Hepatitis B vaccination series with a 24-hour period.

Qualifications

  • Work experience and skill as described above that demonstrates a comprehensive practical knowledge of all facets of Ski patrolling.
  • Advanced skiing ability.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
