Qualifications
This announcement is being opened under the Pathways Program - Recent Graduates option. The Recent Graduates Program is a dynamic, one-year developmental program that promotes careers in the Federal Government to recent graduates. Individuals must apply within two years of receiving a qualifying degree or certificate, with the exception of veterans, who have up to six years to apply to the Recent Graduates Program due to military service obligations. Students may also apply up to nine months prior to completing their academic requirements, depending upon agency-specific policies.While the Pathways appointment is one year in length, individuals who successfully complete the program can be converted into either a time-limited or permanent appointment.
Pathways Recent Graduate Eligibility
Recent Graduates must have completed, within the previous two years, a qualifying associate's, bachelor's, master's, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution, or graduating within 9 months of the announcement close date.

GS-7 Minimum Requirements
You qualify for the GS-07 grade level (starting salary $48,670.00) if you possess information technology related experience demonstrating each of the four required competencies:
Attention to Detail - Reviewing security logs
Customer Service - Assisting with IT help inquiries
Oral Communication - Providing IT assistance to customers
Problem Solving - Evaluating security data logs in order to provide recommendations for enhancement
In addition to the above requirement you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-05 grade level performing the following duties:
Assisting with hardware and software updates to systems;
Assisting with network monitoring and incident response;
Researching new solutions for emerging cyber security threats;
Analyzing and evaluating security log data; and
Conducting vulnerability scans

Have successfully completed one full year of graduate level education in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

Have a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks and meet at least one of the requirements for superior academic achievement (SAA):
Class standing -- Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses.
Grade-point average (G.P.A.) -- Applicants must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum. (Grade-point averages are to be rounded to one decimal place. For example, 2.95 will round to 3.0 and 2.94 will round to 2.9.)
Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society -- Applicants can be considered eligible based on membership in one of the national scholastic honor societies. Membership in a freshman honor society cannot be used to meet the requirements of this provision.
GS-9 Minimum Requirements
You qualify for the GS-09 grade level (starting salary $59,534.00) if you possess information technology related experience demonstrating each of the four required competencies:
