Duties

Help
  • Assist the ammunition accountable officer in monitoring and reviewing the receipt, storage and issue of ammunition, explosives, missiles/rockets and residue.
  • Provides assistance to the systems analyst on maintaining stock record accountability of ammunition utilizing automated systems.
  • Advises on stock record control operations to coworkers, customers, related ammunition supply point (ASP) units and Directorate of Logistics (DOL) supporting offices.
  • Designated as primary hand receipt holder for the function of ammunition storage point.
  • Responsible for the daily operation of the reconciliation branch of the ammunition stock control section.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing supply management support in relation to ammunition; utilizing an automated supply system to track ammunition equal to the GS-06 level.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

This position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment NTE 3 years by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years, and may be made permanent without further competition.

This position may be filled as a Term appointment NTE 3 years, if the candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of eight years.
