About the position:
This position is located at the Club Complex, Building 485/486, with the 35th Force Support Squadron.

The incumbent is responsible for planning or assists in the planning, and then executes club special events, Trivia, and other membership programs.

This is a flexible category position; guaranteed 0 hours per week, but may work up to 40 hours a week (depending on the needs of the facility).

Duties

Help

Must be knowledgeable of Club Membership requirements, categories of membership, and Member's First Program incentives. Examples of types of duties include but are not limited to the following: budgeting and planning of club entertainment and program activities; coordinates with other base activities and contractors for successful event outcome; introducing entertainers and emceeing club events; planning the location, set up, and layout of club events; monitors attendance; prepares base passes for entertainers and support personnel; coordinates ticket sales and reservations; notifies participants of schedule changes; arranges for necessary event equipment and lodging requirements for entertainers; prepares marketing work orders and places advertising; answers inquiries about the scheduled events such as place, transportation, ticket price, or other matters related to the activities scheduled; escorts entertainers, arranging for baggage and equipment transportation; inventories necessary supplies, equipment, and decorations for club activities; and instructs customers and entertainers on the proper handling of facilities and use of equipment. Prepares after action reports to evaluate club programs based on attendance and budget objectives, then recommends future programs based on this report. Maintains Social Media Accounts for the Misawa Collocated Club. Occasionally performs cashier services, performing sales activities, cash counts, bank reconciliations, and slot machine collections and payouts. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Performs other related duties assigned. Occasional travel may be required. Must be able to work an uncommon duty schedule to include nights, weekends and some holidays as necessary.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Practical knowledge and experience in club membership recreational activities and events, rules, and procedures relating Air Force Club's is desirable. Must have experience which demonstrates the ability to plan and organize social functions for large groups of people. Must be able to speak, read and write English. Must be able to speak comfortably in front of large groups and encourage audience participation. The ability to safeguard and handle cash is required. Skill in the use and maintenance of various club and entertainment equipment and facilities is highly desirable however, no experience is required. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background check.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.

Additional information

Misawa Air Base is located approximately 400 miles north of Tokyo, adjacent to Misawa City in Aomori Prefecture in Tohoku, which has a population of approximately 42,000 people. There are about 3,500 U.S. military personnel assigned to Misawa, along with 300 U.S. civilian employees and more than 1,000 local national employees.
What is NAF Employment?
NAF employment is considered federal employment. It is, however, different from federal civil service employment because the monies used to pay the salaries of NAF employees come from a different source. Civil service positions are paid for by money appropriated by Congress. NAF money, on the other hand, is self-generated by Air Force clubs, bowling centers, golf courses, and other activities that use NAF employees.
