Duties

Help
  • Oversee and administer the implementation of Installation-level Human Resource (HR) programs and policies.
  • Advise on implementation of policies and programs to the Garrison Commander (GC), or Deputy to the Garrison Commander (DGC).
  • Assist the GC or DGC in carrying out their civilian personnel management functions.
  • Participate in developing and executing the garrison strategic plan for all HR managed programs.
  • Responsible for the final review and recommendation on the Financial Program and Budget Plan.
  • Ensure training, and development needs of employees are met.
  • Monitor new developments and regulatory guidance from Headquarters and Region.

  • This position requires to obtaining and maintaining a Secret security clearance.
  • This position is designated as a "Key Position" in accordance with AR 690-11. This position shall not be vacated during a national emergency or during mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the agency to function effectively.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience Required: Qualified Candidates for this position must identify in their resume that they possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level/pay band (GS-12) in the federal service that demonstrates the following: Executing a human resources program and participating in the development program action plans to implement organizational goals and objectives.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

  • This is centrally managed position. As a result, the incumbent is subject to reassignments/rotational assignments IMCOM-wide-CONUS and OCONUS.

  • Since Alaska is considered a non-foreign overseas location, statutory return rights for current DoD employees are applicable in many circumstances.
