Duties

Help
  • Serve as technical and administrative supervisor, exercising full supervisory responsibility over work operations and functions through one or more layers of supervision and two or more separate organizational segments, groups, or work shifts.
  • Plan weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates.
  • Establish a good working climate to encourage employees to participate in achieving management goals, and to promote efficient and economical work operations.
  • Develop and establish the internal procedures to be followed by subordinate supervisors to assure effective control and direction of the work activities and personnel supervised.
  • Ensure that subordinate are adequately informed of their responsibilities concerning hazardous materials/waste and follow safety and hazmat policies and regulations with the work area.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic Supervisor without more than normal supervision. Serve as a technical and administrative supervisor in the Reciprocating Drive Train Division exercising full supervisory responsibilities; plan weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates; explain work requirements, methods, and procedures and provide advice when problems arise; develop performance standards, counsels employees on performance, and makes formal and informal performance appraisals. I am the top subject matter expert for the trades and labor occupations, work operations, and functions through one or more layers of supervision and two or more separate organizational segments, groups, or work shifts. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Additional information

The Modified Term employee must meet the following requirements for consideration:

  • Be a Current Department of the Army Modified Term employee within the organization appointed under open, competitive examination to the Term position; and
  • The Modified Term announcement appointed from stated the potential for subsequent conversion to a career-conditional or career appointment; and
  • Must have completed at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service.
  • Performance rating showing they have performed at an acceptable level.
Supporting documentation required, when applying under this Area of Consideration, is for the applicant to submit acceptable proof of their appointment eligibility by submitting a copy of your most recent Notification of Personnel Action (SF-50) where block 24 must be a "3" AND block 34 must be a "1" documenting their modified term appointment AND a performance appraisal that shows performance at least at the fully successful level or higher while on the term appointment.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
