Duties

Help
  • GIS user support including initial user setup
  • Provide mobile GIS support and inventory
  • Provide ArcGIS Online data and project management for district level projects
  • Define data need parameters for specific geospatial projects and/or assignments
  • Manage geospatial databases, including conversion of digital data in various formats
  • Assist Interdisciplinary Teams as needed

Qualifications

You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: For GS-11: Experience defining data need parameters for specific geospatial projects; implementing advanced analytical techniques necessary to solve complex geospatial and GIS issues, calculating cumulative impacts of various environmental impacts, digitizing geographic information by translating raw land-based data into code, designing geospatial database, including conversion of digital data and conducting research to locate information from existing databases.

OR substitute education for experience:

At the GS-11 level: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Note: Graduate education must be directly related and have provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. OR Equivalent combination of education and experience.


You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.

Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level.

The official worksite for the selectee is the duty station identified in this vacancy announcement. The selectee will typically report to this duty location on a regular and recurring weekly basis. The selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.

This is a Bargaining Unit position.
