Duties

The incumbent is the principal management analyst providing day-to-day support to the Director for Administrative Resources Services (ARS), the Assistant Inspector General for Management (AIGMA) and all headquarters staff to accomplish the work of the Office of Management and Administration (MA).  The incumbent performs numerous tasks and has a general knowledge of substantive work of the organization. Responsibilities include coordinating, overseeing and conducting administrative operations; overseeing and conducting analytical assignments related to efficient and effective management of administrative processes; and managing and overseeing official office records.

Applicants must have at least 52 weeks of service equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position.

Appointment to this position may be subject to successful completion of a 1-year probationary period.

Qualifications

You may qualify for this position based on specialized experience. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position being filled. 

At the GS-12 level the applicant must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to a GS-11.  At the GS-13 level the applicant must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to a GS-12.  Examples of specialized experience includes experience managing administrative operations to include budget formulation and execution, procurement and contracts, space and facilities management, travel, training, records management, and property management; experience implementing administrative regulations, policies and practices, and reporting systems; experience formulating long-range and short-range plans for administrative management matters; experience analyzing, interpreting and developing policies and procedures.

5. Ability to communicate and present information, complex material and ideas effectively and clearly, orally and in writing to employees at all organizational levels to include senior management.

Education

There is no substitute of education for specialized experience at the GS-12 or GS-13 level.
