Duties

Help
  • Controls arms rooms for a total of over a 1,000 weapons, as well as sensitive items, in inventory.
  • Designated as the organizations point of contact for all Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives (AAandE).
  • Maintains an information board inside of the arms room storage facility of established policies, procedures, and regulatory guidance.
  • Operates organization vehicles to accomplish pickup and/or turn in of property and equipment, as well as delivery of weapons.
  • Performs various Primary Hand Receipt work requirements for the organization.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must comply with the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • May be required to work rotating shifts which include weekends, holidays, nights, and overtime; may be required to support identified training events that support the organizational mission.
  • May be required to be on-call to support emergency requirements during certain unscheduled emergencies, crisis situations, and/or natural disasters.
  • Must possess a valid driver?s license to dispatch and operate vehicles required in performance of duties.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Must pass a physical examination prior to employment and periodically thereafter.
  • Temporary Duty travel (TDY) may be required up to 5% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performs supply management procedures of a consolidated arms room such as assists conducting inventories of arms and ammunition and assists issuing and controlling of weapons, ammunition, and sensitive items issued to personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-06).

Education
