Duties

Help
  • You will provide support to the Quality Management Special Assistant and the Office of Continuous Improvement by maintaining a command-wide Continuous Improvement Program.
  • You will plan and conduct mock surveys, and participate as a member of a mock survey team.
  • You will conduct record reviews and patient information reviews for compliance with Joint Commission standards.
  • You will review command instructions for compliance with Joint Commission guidelines.
  • You will maintain current instructions, reports, and other pertinent data that is organized according to Joint Commission functions.
  • You will assist in the preparation of the Command's annual Joint Commission survey application.
  • You will participate in the completion of the Periodic Performance Review.
  • You will provide administrative, educational, technical support and consultation to staff pertaining to Joint Commission standards and guidelines.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience researching, collecting, and analyzing data from multiple sources and recommending appropriate action.
  • Experience evaluating and preparing reports on operational effectiveness including mission accomplishments, quality standards, procedures, and compliance.
  • Experience identifying problems (i.e. ethics, patient/staff rights and responsibilities, medication management) within medical and administrative processes.
  • Experience utilizing information systems including data collection, organization, and statistical analysis to support continuous improvement practices.
  • Experience applying oral and written communication skills to achieve program goals and objectives.

Education

The following education can be substituted for specialized experience:

master's or equivalent graduate degree;
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree;
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related

Major study-- hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.
