  • Responsible for updating, maintaining, and enhancing the National Guard Fiscal Law Training Program of Instruction (POI).
  • Act as the primary instructor and program manager for the National Guard Fiscal Law Training Program
  • Serve as the state/territory National Guard point of contact for fiscal law training matters.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Applicants will be evaluated to determine if they meet the minimum qualification requirements and on the extent to which their application shows possession of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) associated with the position:

  • Skill in advising and instructing across the full spectrum of fiscal law concerns.
  • Ability to conduct Fiscal Law blocks of instruction that are embedded in various other RM courses taught at the NGPEC or onsite locations.
  • Knowledge of training in either a resident or mobile training team status to ensure the RM workforce across the states/territories have ready access to training opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently with state/territory USPFOs and staffs to address emerging fiscal law issues and incorporating trends and lessons learned into future POIs to ensure future training is current and relevant.

Notice of Veteran's Preference: There is no formal rating system for applying veteran's preference to Attorney appointments in the excepted service; however, the Department of the Army considers veteran's preference eligibility a positive factor for Attorney hiring. The following minimum qualification requirements must be met before applicants are eligible for further consideration:

- Education:
Applicant must have successfully completed a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) and have the first professional law degree (LLB or JD);
-Bar membership: Applicant must currently be a member in good standing of the bar of a state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico;
- Experience: Applicant must have three (3) or more years of professional legal experience, acquired after being admitted to the bar, commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position. Graduation from an ABA-accredited law school in the top 25% of the class or an advanced law degree such as an LLM may substitute for one year of the required professional legal experience.

About the Position: This position is with the National Guard Bureau, Finance Services Branch, Camp JT Robinson, Arkansas

Camp Robinson is home to the PEC and its 75-acre campus consisting of 25 buildings and a total staff of approximately 420 military, civilian contractor personnel. We annually provide instruction to over 20,000 members of the military force.
