As a Acquisition Specialist, GS-1101-11/12, your typical work assignments may include the following:

Manages a variety of acquisition and procurement actions for specialized equipment, supplies and services.
Manage and Administers invoice and payment functions for goods and services procured through the procurement and acquisition process for awarded contracts.
Serves as Contracting Officer?s Technical Representative (COTR) on assigned procurements and contracts.
Coordinates with customers to develop acquisition requirement documentation and support contract actions with appropriate program/project managers and contracting support centers.
Perform duties associated with purchasing goods and services using the agency GPC purchase card.
Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
Position has been designated as Noncritical Sensitive. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Secret Level security clearance.
Incumbent is required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and is subject to random drug testing for the duration of service with DoD OIG.
Current DoD civilian employees are not required to submit to drug testing if moving from one Testing Designated Position (TDP) to another with no break in service, unless deemed appropriate on a case-by-case basis.

Specialized Experience:
GS-11 Grade Level: A. You must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-09 level in the Federal service or at an equivalent level. Specialized experience is defined as: possessing some business, procurement, financial activities and acquisition related or business functions to perform customer service, accounting, and other acquisition program areas; and performing procurement purchasing related functions using the Government Purchase Card or related functions to support proper purchase of mission related supplies and services.

B. Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. OR
C. A combination of education and experience.
GS-12 Grade Level:
You must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-11 level in the Federal service or at an equivalent level. Specialized experience is defined as: possessing procurement experience, acquisition business experience, customer service, finance experience, accounting and other acquisition program related areas; and performing procurement actions and contract administration functions in an acquisition related functional support area to accomplish proper procurement activities and having some knowledge of the Government Purchase Card program.
