This position is located in the Department of Energy, Office of Inspector General (OIG), Office of Investigations. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

This position requires a security clearance and is subject to drug testing. The selectee must test negative prior to being appointed to this position and will be subject to random testing thereafter. At the GS-7 level the applicant must have 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement; OR 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to a GS-5. Specialized experience includes conducting research, analysis and /or evaluations of information; conducting proactive analytical reviews to identify patterns and trends of illegal or improper activity across Departmental financial, criminal, and public record;utilizing various law enforcement databases; drafting, disseminating and briefing analytical findings in support of ongoing investigations.
At the GS-9 level the applicant must have 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-7. Specialized experience includes experience includes conducting research, analysis and /or evaluations of information; conducting proactive, analytical reviews to identify patterns and trends of illegal or improper activity across Departmental financial, criminal, and public record; utilizing various law enforcement databases; drafting, disseminating and briefing analytical findings in support of ongoing investigations.
