The Assistant Inspector General for Inspections, Intelligence Oversight, and Special Projects (AIGIIS) will be responsible for providing direction, guidance and staff supervision for inspections conducted by the Office of Inspections, Intelligence Oversight, and Special Projects. Reviews allegation-based and performance inspection reports, including Hotline referrals and investigations, submitted to Headquarters for approval to assure adequacy of technical context and consistency with policies and procedures. Prepares information on inspection activities for incorporation into the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) Annual Report and for special inspection reports requested by Congress. Coordinate and supervise special inspection requests from the Congress, the Secretary, and the IG. This includes preparing any testimony and briefings related to the requests. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for Intelligence Oversight, to include assisting in workload planning for the OIG in the area of Intelligence/Counterintelligence, and conducting allegation-based and performance inspections pertaining to the areas of Intelligence and Counterintelligence.

Qualifications

MANDATORY TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
All applicants must submit written statements specifically addressing each MTQs. Statements should not exceed two pages per MTQ. You must address each technical qualification separately.
1. Knowledge and ability to direct the operations of a nationwide Office of Inspector General inspections program, including establishing efficient and effective organizations with clearly defined responsibility, authority, and accountability; managing human resources to recruit and develop staff to perform at a high level of competence; and measuring and improving organization performance.
2. Possesses and applies broad knowledge of Federal finance and operations for the purpose of developing risk-based inspection plans and/or oversight approach and for conducting highly complex inspections, special inquiries, reviews, and evaluations of diverse, geographically dispersed programs and operations.
3. Demonstrated experience in managing inspections teams that perform a full range of highly complex inspections evaluation and review work. Such work routinely involves program operations, system development implementations, and program financial administration.
4. Expert knowledge in leading the development of high-quality work products (e.g. inspection reports, testimony, correspondence, briefings, etc) that are in conformance with government inspection standards and procedures; are submitted timely; and are complete, accurate, well-written, and responsive to the goals and objectives/priorities of the Inspector General, the Department, Congress, and the public.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: All applicants must have progressively responsible executive leadership and supervisory experience that is indicative of senior executive managerial capability. This experience should be sufficiently broad in scope. The ideal candidate will have experience in supervising a large number of employees through subordinate supervisors and have experience in hiring, developing, and evaluating employees. IF YOUR EXPERIENCE DOES NOT INCLUDE THESE BASIC QUALIFICATIONS, YOU WILL NOT BE DETERMINED QUALIFIED FOR THIS POSITION
