Duties

Help
  • Develop and implement long-range lesson plans and daily class work
  • Accommodate the differentiated needs of learners through a variety of learning strategies
  • Maintain individual and class records through the school's information system
  • Participate in DoDEA system-wide assessment programs
  • Collaborate with special education educators to meet the individualized learning requirements of each identified student
  • Participate in committee activities to improve the educational program

Qualifications

Minimum Academic Preparation and Requirements: A baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by a regional accrediting association is required. Academic preparation of at least 40 semester hours (SH) in general education course work distributed over such fields as English, history, social studies, mathematics, fine arts, languages, science, philosophy, and psychology is required. In addition, a minimum of 18 SH of professional teacher education course work in such areas as learning process, tests and measurement, educational philosophy, psychology, social foundations, methods of teaching and curriculum applicable to the type and level of the position for which applying is required. (Note: Speech Language Pathologists, Social Workers, School Nurses, School Psychologists, JROTC Instructors, and non-certified Training Instructors are excluded from the minimum academic preparation requirement.)

0301 Teacher (Video Communications): Applicant must be fully qualified for another secondary position, and in addition have a minimum of 6 semester hours in courses directly related to video communications systems. Creditable course work must include video production design and processes. Two years of full-time experience teaching video communications may be substituted for 3 semester hours of the required course work. Industry certification in video processing software may be considered in lieu of up to 3 semester hours of course work in this area.
