This is an open-continuous announcement with cut-off dates of 7/3/2020 and 7/13/2020. The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13 . If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Research and advise CPD senior level staff on policy, management resources and procedural requirements to be followed in carrying out HUD's program responsibilities.
Provide support and assistance to grantees in meeting their community development needs in a comprehensive and consolidated manner. Provide current and potential grantees with meeting application or submission requirements by being able to effectively communicate the requirements as established in handbooks, Notices of Funding Availability, Program regulations or other technical material.
Provide assistance to CPD senior level staff in preparing training, materials, briefings and other report materials to HUD staff.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. This position is located in the Office of Community Planning and Development (CPD). CPD seeks to develop viable communities by promoting integrated approaches that provide decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expand economic opportunities for low and moderate-income persons. The primary means toward this end is the development of partnerships among all levels of government and the private sector, including for-profit and non-profit organizations.
The official duty station for this position will be in Washington, DC. Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal.
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
• Administering a community development or economic development program at the federal, state, or local government or at a lending institution or non-profit organization; AND
• Developing program or organizational policies and procedures; AND
• Interpreting, implementing, and providing technical guidance on special projects, policies, and regulations related to agency programs.
For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
