Duties

Help
  • You will be responsible for the planning, preparation, instruction and evaluation of engineers, technicians and supervisory personnel in specific areas of the Nuclear Test Engineering Program
  • You will conduct training to cross-qualify Shift Test Engineers (STE) on other plant types in order to support Reactor Plant overhauls of all possible ships overhauled by the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard
  • You will conduct training in nuclear test procedures, support equipment and administrative requirements for the Nuclear Engineering Department

Qualifications

This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

GS-10: $60,074- $78,098
GS-11: $66,002 - $85,801
GS-12: $79,109 - $102,847

GS-10:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying a wide range of technical engineering methods, principles, requirements, work techniques, and practices sufficient to advise on and/or resolve difficult but well-precedented, factual, procedural, and/or recurring issues; and perform installation, maintenance, operation, and testing duties.

GS-11: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: comprehensive, intensive, practical knowledge of, and skill in applying, technical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and/or practices related to the test and evaluation of items, systems, and equipment associated with nuclear engineering projects.

GS-12: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing and overseeing technical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and/or practices related to the test and evaluation of items, systems, and equipment associated with nuclear engineering projects.
