Summary

About the Position:

The incumbent is the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Medical Division Acquisition Manager for all Source Selection and Evaluation Boards (SSEB) servicing Medical Division missions and product lines. Incumbent serves as an authoritative source for acquisition requirements and actions and will work with Contracting personnel to execute required actions. Incumbent serves as the lead Acquisition Manager and liaison to Contracting for all programs within the Medical.

Duties

Help
  • Serves as a senior Medical Division representative in determining technical, design and execution criteria and requirements for contract acquisitions of large scope, complexity, and national importance.
  • Provides authoritative engineering design, planning, and management advice in support of Medical Division procurements while monitoring compliance with standards, regulations and guidance.
  • Develops, maintains, resources, and monitors acquisition planning within the Medical Division and makes regular reports of acquisition planning status to senior leaders.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships Center-wide to increase effectiveness of the contract acquisition process.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

  • Level III Certification (Facility Engineering) within 24 months of entrance on duty
  • This position is term not to exceed 4 years and maybe converted to permanent without further competition
  • This position requires the selectee to be a member of the Acquisition Corps at the time of appointment unless a waiver is granted.

Qualifications

This position may be filled as a Term appointment Not to Exceed thirteen months, if the candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Term appointments may be extended up to a maximum of 6 years.

Term employment is subject to a one year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.

Specialized Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includesengineering design, planning, and management advice in support of Medical Division procurements while monitoring compliance with standards, regulations & guidance, develops, maintains, resources, and monitors acquisition planning within the IT Systems Division and makes regular reports of acquisition planning status.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
