Duties

Help

Intelligence Operations Specialist

  • Assist the Senior Intelligence Officer in assuring the Intelligence function maintains a capability to provide timely and accurate operational intelligence support and fully trained intelligence personnel during peacetime and contingency operations.
  • Perform assigned operational intelligence collection, fusion and analysis, and, based on thorough understanding of the significance of conditions and trends, develops and projects data and draws meaningful conclusions and clear estimates based on current and past intelligence situations.
  • Recognized as a subject matter expert on order of battle and threat weapons systems.
  • Serves as the Geospatial (mapping) manager for the J2.
  • Directs or assists in the direction of the security functions within the J2 section and oversees unit security inspections, security briefings and other security operations.
  • Directs or assists in the direction of antiterrorism/force protection planning and execution and provides antiterrorism and/or force protection (AT/FP) Level-One Training to subordinate units.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Appointment Factor(s): This is an Excepted Service position that requires active membership in a compatible military assignment in the Texas Army National Guard and wear of the military uniform.

Areas of Consideration: Nationwide Excepted. This includes:

  • All currently employed full-time permanent, indefinite, and temporary personnel of the Texas Army National Guard.
  • All current members of the Army National Guard and individuals eligible for membership in the Texas Army National Guard.

Military Requirements:
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants need not have MOS to apply. Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military duty position in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain and maintain all requirements of the MOS within one year of appointment.

Officers: 35D, 35E, 34A

Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-11 grade level your resume must include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of employment/experience reflecting the following:

Specialized Experience Required: Must have at least 36 months experience, education or training developing and recommending policy, organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations. Experience in administrative, investigative, or technical work which required the applicant to deal effectively with others. Experience collecting, evaluating and organizing pertinent facts and to analyze and prepare clear and concise reports.

Education

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience - Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements.
