The office is responsible for planning, design, and construction projects and for providing the following services: facilities planning; architectural, engineering, and interior design services; relocation management; code advice/interpretation; computer-aided Design (CAD) and space database management.
Summary
This position is located in the Office of Architecture and Engineering, an adjunct function of the Administrator’s Office, National Gallery of Art. The office is responsible for planning, design, and construction projects and for providing the following services: facilities planning; architectural, engineering, and interior design services; relocation management; code advice/interpretation; computer-aided Design (CAD) and space database management.
Acts as a technical resource advising staff in matters of planning, design, construction, and use of materials pertinent to design projects.
Directs studies and reports including preliminary design and feasibility studies.
Coordinates and delivers the Gallery’s Repair Restoration and Renovation budget, including the preparation of project justifications and associated budget formulation.
Serves on or leads negotiation committees, evaluate cost and time proposals.
Incumbent is responsible for supervising three or more positions.

Qualifications
Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for the GS-808-15. For this position, specialized experience is at least one year of experience, equivalent in responsibility to the GS-14 level in the Federal service, managing multiple projects, simultaneously, for the renovation or construction of museums.
