Duties

Help
  • Serve as Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for the ASDC coordinating with Project, Center, Agency and customers as needed to balance IT Security with meeting mission needs.
  • Provide Government appropriate oversight of the ASDC contractor staff with the purpose of maximizing the effectiveness of the ASDC technical infrastructure.
  • Provide leadership in continuous improvement of the ASDC technical infrastructure through on-going analysis of all facets of the ASDC technical environment.
  • Provide system integration expertise in all areas of the ASDC technical environment utilizing Linux, Kubernetes and Docker, high-speed ethernet, fiberchannel, large-scale storage systems, virtualization and commercial cloud.
  • Ensure discipline in management of the ASDC IT technical environment through documentation, adherence to change management processes, sound system engineering practices and effective user support.
  • Coordinate closely with ASDC management and other ASDC staff to recommend changes and augmentation to the ASDC technical environment to improve effectiveness and meet evolving mission needs.
  • Propose and apply strategic and tactical innovation to the ASDC technical environment to anticipate and accommodate future mission requirements.
  • Duties described above are at the full-performance level. Duties assigned at a lower grade level will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee.

Qualifications

You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.

To qualify for the GS-13:

Specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-12) includes performing duties such as supporting system lifecycle management including detailing acquisition specifications, installation, integration, performance monitoring while adhering to configuration management processes including system documentation; applying hands-on experience incorporating IT Security controls with Linux operating systems, Virtual Machine technology, Kubernetes and Docker, high capacity storage systems, advanced networking and; working with a technical team and communicating with diverse customers.

To qualify for the GS-14:

Specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) includes performing duties such as system lifecycle management including detailing acquisition specifications, installation, integration, performance monitoring while adhering to configuration management processes including extensive system documentation; hands-on experience incorporating FIPS-compliant IT Security controls with Linux operating systems, Virtual Machine technology, Kubernetes and Docker, high apacity storage systems, advanced networking; providing leadership for a contractor technical team, communicating with diverse customers and influencing cultural change within an organization.

AND

Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

4.Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
