Duties

Help
  • Assist soldiers to electronically submit documents to update their personnel records using software such as iPERMS (Personnel Electronic Records Management System) or IWS (Integrated Web Services).
  • Communicate with the Agency Proponent (i.e. Human Resources Command - Department of the Army Database Management Office) to resolve customer issues.
  • Communicate technical information to customers to facilitate data base changes to soldier official files.
  • Update military records in eMILPO (Electronic Military Personnel Office) database.
  • Interpret laws and regulations to update official military records such as iPERMS (Personnel Electronic Records Management System).
  • Process military personnel actions such as personnel accountability, reassignments, and reclassifications.
  • Perform error resolution through contract with agency wide military personnel offices.
  • Apply laws and regulations to assist soldiers in submitting required documents to update their Official Military Personnel File (OMPF).

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of experience which includes work that involves using the knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations and standard operating procedures to perform a wide variety of tasks pertaining to military personnel management, records and actions; using automated data bases to locate records, identifying and updating data fields and saving updates; utilizing clerical or administrative procedures to complete reports and correspondence; and organizing and maintaining both automated and hard copy filing systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
