Duties

Help

As a Management and Program Analyst in EERE you will:

  • Serve as the Director of the Strategic Priorities and Impact Analysis (SPIA) team and provide leadership and direction for all matters relating to EERE's strategic development, policy direction, and analysis for all technologies within the EERE portfolio.
  • Ensure that the strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the SPIA team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services. Articulates and communicates to the team the assignments, projects, and problems to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion.
  • Coordinate and direct detailed energy market and impact analysis in collaboration with experts from industry, academia, EERE program offices and the National Laboratories. Analyze social, economic, legal and institutional barriers to energy efficiency and renewable energy programs/projects, and develop program measures to overcome or diminish these barriers.
  • Communicate the results of analysis to variety of internal and external audiences. Oversee the preparation of briefings and reports for senior EERE and DOE officials. Prepare responses to inquiries from Congress and other major stakeholders

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Proven experience providing internal and external guidance regarding Federal energy efficiency and renewable energy program operations.

  • Ability to provide guidance and advice to officials, managers, and other professionals.
  • Knowledge of and ability to promote global deployment of U.S. clean energy technologies and services, supports and accelerates entrepreneurial energy ventures and domestic technological advancements, provides critical support for optimized decision making and sound management, and helps the public and other stakeholders learn about clean energy.
  • Skill in coordinating energy efficiency and renewable energy program administration, planning and strategy development, program monitoring and oversight; to evaluate on-going energy efficiency and renewable energy efforts and new starts; to provide advice and guidance on a wide range of activities and manages the development of innovative energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies.
  • Ability to influence or persuade other energy technology experts and/or managers to adopt approaches or methods about which there are conflicts; and to exchange information and coordinate program activities.
