Duties

Help

As a Management and Program Analyst, you will:

  • Identify and analyze issues, problems, and challenges facing the organization.
  • Provide expert analysis and evaluation of work processes and policies, management practices and work operations taking into full consideration complex legislative, programmatic and management issues and problems.
  • Review and evaluate managerial policies and procedures to determine gaps where additional guidance as needed.
  • Advise managers and program officials on policies and procedures including actions to be taken to accomplish work in accordance with established requirements.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:

GS 12

  • Analyzed alternatives to identify potential resolutions to problems.
  • Evaluated and advised on methods and procedures providing administrative support.
  • Developed and recommended reporting approaches identifying data required for use in the management and direction of programs.

GS 13

  • Demonstrated ability to formulate and identify the operational and analytical techniques for accomplishment of project objectives to produce reliable findings.
  • Developed and communicated guidance to collect data and information (e.g., budget data, performance data).
  • Implemented action plans for new business processes based on findings and recommendations from data studies.

  1. Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methods, management and project management principles, analytical techniques and review processes for assessment and improvement of programs and organizations and skill in applying and adapting to provide guidance and analysis
  2. Skill in analyzing, providing comprehensive advice, and developing appropriate recommendations on issues or problems which have a significant degree of complexity due to breadth of the assignment's boundaries and/or the evolving nature of those boundaries.
  3. Knowledge of the missions, objectives, policies, projects, and programs; the schedules for key milestones
  4. Knowledge of program or organizational relationships to assure analytical results and recommendations are in alignment with all stakeholders' mission success.

How you will be evaluated

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
