Duties

Help
  • Prepare and produce digital broadcast products, video specials and weekly news features.
  • Explain U.S. Army Corps of Engineers policies, plans, and activities to the general public, command personnel, other DoD organizations, Members of Congress, and the Military Services.
  • Research and writes scripts, interview subject matter experts, shoot video and b-roll, and edit and produce finished broadcast-quality products.
  • Staff material with subject matter experts to ensure factual accuracy, identifies controversial or sensitive issues and screens information to preclude compromise of material covered by FOIA, Privacy Act, or security regulations.
  • Develop, produce and disseminates radio and television spots, public service announcements, news stories and other streaming video products for distribution to a wide audience on the internet.
  • Maintain video equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition and within in the prescribed lifecycle management plan.
  • Establishes policies and processes for efficient broadcast video production.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) preparing and producing digital broadcast products, video specials and weekly news features 2) developing information and materials for dissemination through a variety of communication channels to a large variety of clients 3) editing, revising and produces video segments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

Education
