Duties

Help
  • Manage criteria development, planning and design execution of assigned projects.
  • Monitor dollar amount utilization on contracts, coordinate changes and additions, and advise when replacement contracts are anticipated.
  • Work and communicate with customers both within and outside of the organization/federal government to provide quality service and satisfy expectations.
  • Prepare correspondence for higher authority, other government agencies, field offices, public officials, civic organizations, and contractors concerning planning, direction, and execution of the work.
  • Plan, schedule, task, and monitor the progress of others in the procurement of contracts, serving as the single point of contact for status of contract acquisitions.
  • Identify and develop ways to resolve problems or cope with issues which directly affect the accomplishment of principal programs of the Huntsville Center.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance for the duration of employment.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for certification at Level III in the Acquisition Career Field of Facilities Engineering within 24 months of entrance on duty.
  • This position requires submission of an annual financial disclosure statement.
  • You may be required to travel up to 30% of the the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

One year of specialized experience which includes planning, developing, coordinating and implementing processes and procedures to manage assigned projects inclusive of varied complex features concerning functional, technical, and administrative project aspects and leading project delivery teams (PDTs). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

INFORMATION:
Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment not to exceed 13 months, by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to five years and may be made permanent without further competition.

Position may be filled as a temporary appointment 13 months, if candidate is not a permanent Army employee. Temporary appointments may be extended up to 5 years.
