Duties

Help
  • Responsible for assets through effective management and maintenance of property books and hand receipts and sub-hand receipts using the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A) website
  • Serves as the primary purchasing official for expendable, durable, and non-expendable items purchased with the Government Purchase Card (GPC) required to support the command
  • Responsible for the security and accountability of all weapons, equipment and sensitive items stored in the NCOA Arms Room.
  • Responsible for the receiving, inspection, inventorying, loading, unloading, storing, delivering and turning in of organization and Installation supplies and equipment.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Hazardous Materials Certification (HAZMAT)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A) certification
  • Must attend the Unit Armorer Course and become certified
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing
  • Since this position has unaccompanied access to arms, ammunition and explosives, the position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to carry items weighting up to 50lbs
  • Pre-employment physical is required

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a variety of supply support functions such as, but not limited to: maintaining hazardous materials for issue, receipt, turn-in and/or proper disposal; preparing and/or maintaining sub-hand receipts utilizing an automated supply system

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job there is no education substitution for experience, you must qualify based on specialized experience.
