Duties

Help
  • You will serve as a Facilities Operations Specialist and perform duties relating to facilities and space management.
  • You will develop requirements for facility modification, replacement, or construction.
  • You will make recommendations based on analysis and findings in the facility allocation, use, modification, and acquisition processes.
  • You will be responsible for supporting the proper and timely execution of all NAWCWD facilities sustainment, restoration and modernization (SRM) investments.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for STRL jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower pay band. This requirement is called time-in-band. Time-in-band requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

DA-04: Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (DA-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Performing duties relating to facilities and space management, including the identification and analysis of facility requirements to ensure the effective and efficient use of facility resources in relation to the organizational mission; 2) Developing requirements for facility modification, replacement, or construction; 3) Making recommendations based on analysis and findings in the facility allocation, use, modification, and acquisition processes which includes providing support to the end users for preparing all documentation needed; 4) Performing condition assessment and life cycle analyses of facilities and equipment such as plumbing, masonry, HVAC, utility, mechanical, electrical or high voltage; and 5) Verifying compliance with all certification, safety, fire prevention, and security program requirements.

DA-03: Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (DA-02) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Assisting with duties relating to facilities and space management, including the identification and analysis of facility requirements to ensure the effective and efficient use of facility resources in relation to the organizational mission; 2) Executing requirements for facility modification, replacement, or construction; 3.) Supporting condition assessment and life cycle analyses of facilities and equipment such as plumbing, masonry, HVAC, utility, mechanical, electrical or high voltage; and 4) Aiding with all certification, safety, fire prevention, and security program requirements.
