Duties

Help
  • You will assist units in installation and operation of Hazardous Inventory Control System
  • You will work with Logistic Support Team to evaluate the availability of funds to ensure material support capabilities remain active
  • You will be responsible for distance support functions to include Pre-commissioning HAMAT load outs, logistical support and overall planning, directing, leading and coordination of all HAZMAT Afloat initiatives.
  • You will maintain status and performs follow-up actions concerning Hazardous Materials requisitions.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-07 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing Supply Management Specialist work that demonstrates technical and analytical work utilizing a practical knowledge of a wide range of well-established and commonly applied supply principals, concepts, and methodologies to perform inventory management, material coordination, redistribution, and inventory control of hazardous materials. demonstrate experience and a working knowledge of supply software systems that support the management, coordination, redistribution, and/or control of hazardous materials. Examples of specialized experience include the following: 1.) Apply established methods and procedures of HAZMAT and CHRIMP management regulations and policies to assist in developing implementation strategies which will reduce risk and cost; 2.) Apply federal, state, and local HAZMAT laws, regulations, and policies in order to adapt established methods and procedures to meet the requirements of the law; 3.) Ability to communicate orally and in writing to prepare management briefings concerning technical aspects of the CHRIMP program; 4.) Ability to use a variety of computer software systems to review, analyze, and disseminate HAZMAT data by preparing environmental reports; 5.) Utilize management reports to determine HAZMAT Control (HMC) Efficiency and accuracy of data into HAZMAT inventory control databases such as Regional Hazardous Material Inventory Control System (RHICS) and Navy Enterprise Resources Planning (NERP).

Education

GS-09 SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree, LL.B, J.D., or have completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to such a degree. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement.

GS-09 COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.
