The Intermediate Care Technician (ITC) performs ongoing patient care duties in the Emergency Department and in the Critical Care Unit of and may assist with or perform other related technical health care procedures under the supervision of the Physicians.
Duties include but may not be limited too:
Providing physician supervised treatment of patients seen in the Emergency Department· Performing diagnostic tests such as Vital signs and EKG
Evaluating patients for emergent/non-emergent medical conditions, order appropriate diagnostic studies and perform a wide range of treatment procedures under the direction of the supervising physician
Conducting Point of Care testing
Administration of: Nebulized Medications, Topical, IV Fluids, Limited PO Meds, IM Injections, Vaccines.
Uncomplicated Wound Closure such as simple one-layer lacerations, Scalp lacerations, Skin Stapling, Steristrips, Dermabond·
Monitoring and transportation of Telemetry patients

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
GS-07 grade level: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the federal service; experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes experience evaluating patients for emergency conditions; ordering appropriate diagnostic studies; performing interventions based upon patient symptoms and established protocols/standards; assisting in behavioral/psychiatric situations; and assisting Emergency Department Physicians with complex, specialized, and potentially-life threatening procedures.
