Duties

Help
  • You will serve as the principal advisor for Commander Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) on all Privacy Act (PA) and Personally identifiable Information (PII) matters.
  • You will implement and manage the PA and PII programs within NAVSEA.
  • You will coordinate and direct requests to locations for responses, consolidate, prepare, and submit quarterly PA/PII and annual Federal Information Security Act (FISMA) reports.
  • You will prepare/submit System of Records Notices (SORN's) to the Federal Register as needed.
  • You will provide verbal and/or written guidance/assistance to all Staff Directorates, Program Executive Offices (PEOs) and Field Activities on PA/PII issues.
  • You will generate replies to PA/PII requests directed to Headquarters, necessary declarations, affidavits, administrative records, etc., required during the course of PA litigation.
  • You will assist the Department of Navy (DON) appellate authorities by furnishing all background data and denial justifications regarding FOIA/PA appeals.
  • You will be responsible for using PII protection methodologies to protect classified and sensitive or Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)
  • You will assist with the implementation of policy and procedures relating to the management and oversight responsibilities for NAVSEA's PA/PII programs.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (NH-02) or grade level (GS-11) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: analyzing and evaluating the Privacy Act (PA) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) policies and regulations to develop organizational program procedures in support of safeguarding government information and personal records.
